Campfire by the lake
Fire, fresh air and something good on a stick.
tripod grill
or buy a bag
Sometimes the simplest evenings are the best.
Light a fire, get everyone outside and cook something together over the flames.
Make Swedish pinnbröd (stick bread), use the tripod grill for dinner or keep it simple with marshmallows. Especially with children, collecting sticks, preparing the fire and cooking together can easily become one of the highlights of your stay.
There is no need to turn it into a big event. Bring something to drink, prepare a simple dinner and enjoy an evening outside by the fire.
Keep it simple.
You do not need a complicated menu. Pick one of these and enjoy the evening.
Simple stick bread for the fire.
Easy to prepare, fun with kids and perfect over glowing embers.

- 2 tbsp oil
How to make it
- Mix everything into a firm, non-sticky dough.
- Divide into pieces and roll each one into a long strip.
- Twist the dough around a clean stick.
- Hold it over glowing embers, not directly in the flames.
- Turn regularly until golden and cooked through.
A good fire is a safe fire.
Check first
Always check current fire restrictions before lighting a fire. During dry periods, a fire ban may be in place.
Use the fire pit
Never make a fire directly on the ground. Use the designated fire pit and keep water nearby.
Watch the weather
Don't light a fire in strong winds or very dry conditions, even if there is no formal fire ban.
Leave no fire behind
Never leave the fire unattended. Extinguish it completely with water before you leave or go inside.
Burn only suitable dry firewood. Don't burn rubbish, wet wood or fresh branches.
